St Anthony 88s

Terracina Cup Champions 2005, Italy

Congratulations to our St Anthony 88's who travelled to Italy and won the Terracina Cup, 12th International Tournament "Riviera D'Ulisse" on July 10, 2005.

The team was unbeaten in the Round Robin of the Cup, with no goals scored against them in any of their games. At the semi-finals, they tied at 0-0 in regular time and won the penalty shootout, 5-3.

Goalkeeper, John Fiutowski, stopped two shots on goal to help the team advance to the final round.

In the finals, the team won 1-0 in regulation time with the goal scored by Jonathan Brooks who was also voted MVP for the final match.

The St Anthony 88s have been accepted to participate in the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl, December 27-31, 2005. It is a highly competitive international showcase tournament, where they will compete against 67 teams (U19 boys) from all across the U.S.A and Europe. The 88s are the only team from Canada. This is an excellent opportunity for the St Anthony boys to get recognized for scholarships by American Colleges and Universities.
